Thread: Hidden DTS in PS3 games

  1. Default Hidden DTS in PS3 games

For those nerdy enough to care.

Today I purchaed Mirror's Edge and I noticed the 'DTS Digital Surround' logo on the back of the box. I personally prefer DTS to Dolby Digital so I was pleased to see this. I put the game in (in Dolby Digital as usual) and went to the audio in the options menu...nothing, no option to change the output format. i look in the manual...nothing. Now i'm thinking "WTF?"

I look on Google and apparently to access the DTS sound you have to go into the PS3 audio settings and disable Dolby Digital. Why the hell do you have to do that?!? Why can't you change it in-game like in Uncharted?

I started wondering if any other PS3 games have DTS sound that needs to be accessed this way. Yes there are, LittleBigPlanet also has DTS but LBP doesn't even have the DTS logo anywhere on the packaging at all. Why do they hide it? Why is it awkward to access?

There are probably other PS3 games like this too but I don't have them to check.

    Rant over. Thank you.

You could use php to create an array of every possible combination, give it an ID number, save that ID as the cookies value.
Then retrieve that cookie, if it exists, and do something based on its value (like return all of those values that correspond with that ID).
